Breastfeeding Workshop
Our breastfeeding education class is facilitated by one of MAMA’s experienced lactation consultants and held over two hours in an intimate group of a maximum of 8 pregnant women (plus one support person per woman is highly recommended) .

Breastfeeding Education: Knowledge, Confidence, and Support
Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s also a learned skill for both you and your baby. The right knowledge and support can make all the difference in your breastfeeding journey. Our breastfeeding class is designed to provide you with confidence, practical skills, and evidence-based information to set you up for success.
What You'll Learn
Why Breastfeeding? – Understanding the benefits for both you and your baby.
Breasts & Hormones – How your body prepares for and supports milk production.
Skin-to-Skin & The First Feed – The importance of early contact and getting breastfeeding off to a great start.
Feeding Cues – Learning to recognize when your baby is hungry and ready to feed.
Positioning & Attachment – Techniques to ensure a comfortable and effective latch.
Hand Expressing – How and when to express milk by hand.
Signs of Adequate Intake – How to know if your baby is getting enough milk.
Bottles & Breast Pumps – When and how to introduce expressed milk if needed.
Common Challenges & Troubleshooting – Addressing concerns like nipple pain, supply worries, and more.
You'll also have plenty of time to ask questions, and you'll receive helpful handouts for future reference.

Comprehensive Education Package
Classic Course
A twelve hour evidence-based midwife led childbirth education covering late pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postnatal period including an introduction to breastfeeding.
Fourth Trimester Workshop
A four-hour workshop all about the transition to parenthood and how to set your expectations to enhance the likelihood of a positive early postnatal experience.
Newborn & Children’s First Aid Class
Designed for parents & carers, participants will learn first aid basics for common illnesses and injuries of childhood including burns, choking, CPR, breathing difficulties, seizures and anaphylaxis.

Refund Policy:
Due to our small group sizes & high demand, payment is required in full at time of booking & is non-refundable in the event of change of mind, other engagements, forgetting to attend or illness.
Full refunds will only be given for unexpected early births (provided you are less than 36 weeks pregnant at the start of the course).
If you wish to move your booking to another course date, please get in touch at least 7 days before the start of your booked course (space permitting).

In the rare instance that we need to cancel the class (presenter illness, minimum booking numbers not reached etc), we will contact you 3-5 business days prior to the class. We will aim to facilitate you joining another class, or offer a full refund if this is not possible.
